Both kinds of people are capable of turning into monsters, which have different names on both God Eater and Code Vein. If you're familiar with that game series, the Revenants you see in Code Vein are basically God Eaters, without the God Arc on their arm. Code Vein's story is directly connected to the story of the God Eater series. At first it comes off as lazy story implementation, but it is actually a technique, or style.Ĭode Vein's story on the other hand is different than Scarlet Nexus in many ways, from the delivery, to the duration, and so on. They're just provided at pivotal moments in the story that would provide the most impact, and I assure you, they indeed do. There are indeed normal 3D animated scenes using the game's actual characters.

Scarlet Nexus' story might sound like it goes full visual novel on you if you are reading reviews, but I assure it's not all just that. If you want to know what those look like, you can check YouTube, but it might get spoilery depending on who's showing off that content. Throughout the game, several new combat abilities open up to you, such as the Brain Drive and Brain Field. Code Vein is more like Dark Souls, (or games like that in general) while Scarlet Nexus is like a mix of Nier Automata/Replicant + Astral Chain, maybe some Tales games style in there, too. The gameplay for the two really couldn't be more different. I'm not familiar with Steam's online population for Code Vein, however can't comment on that one for certain.Īnyhow, they are both great games. There just aren't very many online players available to play with in the Xbox Game Pass online server for the game. So you could easily play both, buying Scarlet Nexus here on steam, or finding a discounted key elsewhere like DLGamer or IndieGala if they're still doing deals for it. Or free, if you've been getting your Microsoft Rewards points every day, which is around ~300+ every day. If you haven't gotten it yet, you can get 3 months of Ultimate on there for $1. Meet new allies and enemies and find loot as you explore the brimming world of The Ascent and its wide range of districts, from the deep slums to the higher luxury spheres.Right now, Code Vein is on Xbox Game Pass for PC. Allocate new skill points as you level-up and try various augmentations to take down your enemies in new creative ways.
